Heron Armoury was created in 1990 in Herne Bay, Kent and has produced many swords, knives helmets etc for use in re-enactment as well as living history pieces and western martial arts. Each item is made for the requirements of the individual and fit for purpose.

The first forged sword took two weeks to make and was destroyed in under one minute. The underestimation of the stresses swords are subjected to in use, was the challenge that became Heron Armoury. Over the last 20 years Heron Armoury has combined the strength required to withstand repeated use with something hopefully pleasing to the eye.

Every part is manufactured and every process undertaken at the workshop from the shaping and heat treatment of the blades to the forging of the fittings and final construction and polishing.

This all makes it easier to check every care is taken to ensure the product is up to the purpose it was designed for.

Being a re-enactor myself, I understand the stresses and wear that arms and armour have to take.

Heron Armoury weapons are made to the highest standard and meet the safety requirements of most re-enactment groups.

If your group has specific rules please talk to Heron Armoury about them and make sure your weapon will be within code.
